Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is a fixed restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring artificial teeth to the natural teeth on either side of the gap. Dr. Wong provides custom-crafted bridges that restore both function and aesthetics.

How Does a Bridge Work?

A dental bridge consists of:

  • Pontics — the artificial teeth that fill the gap
  • Abutment teeth — the natural teeth on either side that support the bridge, typically covered with crowns

The bridge is cemented in place and functions like natural teeth — you don’t need to remove it for cleaning.

A dental bridge may be a good option if you:

  • Are missing one or more consecutive teeth
  • Have healthy teeth on either side of the gap
  • Want a fixed (non-removable) restoration
  • Prefer a non-surgical alternative to implants

Benefits of a Dental Bridge

  • Restores your smile and fills visible gaps
  • Maintains facial shape and prevents sagging
  • Distributes bite forces properly
  • Prevents remaining teeth from shifting out of position
  • Fixed and stable — no need to remove for cleaning

The Bridge Process

Getting a dental bridge typically requires two visits:

  1. First visit — Dr. Wong prepares the abutment teeth, takes impressions, and places a temporary bridge
  2. Second visit — The permanent bridge is fitted, adjusted, and cemented in place

Caring for Your Bridge

With proper care, a dental bridge can last 10–15 years or more. Brush and floss daily (using a floss threader or interdental brush under the bridge), and visit Dr. Wong for regular check-ups.
